Our Regenerative Medicine Services

We specialize in regenerative orthobiologic treatments for joint, tendon and ligament conditions. Our most common patients are those with knee pain, often from arthritis, who have been disappointed with constant cortisone and “gel” injections, bracing and other options they have been offered for their pain.  Patients typically see us and are frustrated that they are unable to return to the activities they enjoy despite seemingly trying everything other than surgery.

Orthobiologics are regenerative medical treatments that harness the patient’s own body’s capacity to stimulate healing and tissue regeneration.  Click here for Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs).  Not all patients qualify for these treatments and we distinguish ourselves by following the evolving science to maximize the benefit you receive. We even offer patients guarantees, which we are able to do as a result of our extremely high success rate even for patients with severe conditions such as “bone on bone” arthritis.  During your initial consultation, which can last up to an hour, Dr. Ayzenberg will carefully evaluate you and ensure that your condition can potentially benefit from one of the treatments we offer. For some patients, this may not be the case and surgery may truly be the best option; but Dr. Ayzenberg prides himself on helping his patients often avoid surgery for conditions such as arthritis, tendonitis, ligament and muscle injuries.

Our Regenerative Medicine Services

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is a regenerative medicine injection made from your own blood after a simple in-office blood draw. PRP has a high concentration of platelets, growth factors and other bioactive components that stimulate tissue repair and regeneration.

Stem Cell Therapy / Bone Marrow Aspirate Concentrate (BMAC)

Bone marrow aspirate concentrate (BMAC) is a regenerative medicine therapy made by taking some of your bone marrow and concentrating it to increase stem cells, growth factors and other components that contribute to tissue repair and regeneration. For certain orthopaedic conditions, published research has shown that BMAC can give significantly better outcomes than PRP.

Alpha-2-Macroglobulin (A2M) / Protein Concentrate

Alpha-2-Macroglobulin (A2M) is a large protein naturally found in your blood. Its main job is to trap and neutralize harmful enzymes that break down cartilage in your joints. This can be used to help protect the cartilage, reduce inflammation, and ease pain, especially in conditions like osteoarthritis. By stopping the harmful enzymes, A2M injections may slow down joint damage and support your body's natural healing process. In order to obtain A2M and Protein Concentrate, we perform a simple in-office blood draw and then, using highly specialized filters, filter out the A2M and protein concentrate, which can then be used as an injection.

Multiwave Locked System (MLS) Laser Therapy

MLS therapy lasers are painless treatments that treat orthopaedic conditions by reducing pain, inflammation, and promoting faster tissue healing. The therapy can potentially enhance circulation, improve nerve function, and help reduce scar tissue, which can lead to better mobility and recovery. It is particularly useful for conditions like osteoarthritis, tendon injuries, post-surgical recovery, and chronic joint pain.

Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT) Locked System (MLS) Laser Therapy

Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT) is a non-invasive treatment that uses targeted acoustic energy to stimulate your body’s natural healing response in chronically injured tendons, soft tissues and joints. It works by increasing blood flow, activating growth factors, and “restarting” areas where healing has stalled – often leading to relief for patients with a variety of orthopaedic conditions. Treatments are performed in the office, take only 10-20 minutes, require no incisions or injections, and involve little to no downtime.

Other treatment modalities are also available. For more details about these treatments, check out our blog about the research behind orthobiologics. If you are not 100% satisfied with your initial consultation, you owe us nothing – that is our guarantee to you.
